Absolent Group discloses ongoing development of carbon capture solutions
With the Paris Agreement striving to limit global warming to 2°C or less, Absolent Group customers are increasingly searching for solutions that allow for a reduction in their carbon footprint.
Absolent Group is on a mission to help businesses be sustainable and increase their corporate responsibility by skillfully applying our air cleaning solutions. A natural progression of this mission is to add carbon capture to our product offering.
The International Energy Agency highlights that "reaching net zero emissions will be virtually impossible without carbon capture, utilization and storage"1. McKinsey & Company also concludes that any pathway to mitigate climate change requires negative-emission technologies to reduce atmospheric CO2 concentrations 2. The economic opportunity for products made with captured CO2 emissions is estimated to amount $6 trillion on an annual basis3.
Absolent Group has used its market leading breadth of air filtration technologies, in combination with emerging technologies, to develop a direct air carbon capture concept. The direct air capture concept has a small footprint and could easily be installed at our existing customers' production sites. This provides our customers the opportunity to take direct control of their own carbon footprint rather than relying on the purchase of carbon offsets.
Further details will be disclosed as the product development progresses.
