Coegin Pharma provides NPP-4 development update - INCI registration filed and commercialization preparations on track.

Coegin Pharma AB ("Coegin" or the "Company") today provides an update on the development of NPP-4, the Company's next-generation cosmetic peptide innovation designed to enhance skin tone. Development is progressing according to plan, the Company has submitted an application for INCI registration, and work is ongoing to complete the remaining development and regulatory activities ahead of future commercialization. NPP-4 has already demonstrated concept validation, providing a strong foundation for future product development.

Development of NPP-4 is progressing according to plan, with the current phase primarily focusing on ingredient safety and formulation. The Company has also filed for INCI registration, with approval expected within approximately six months. Based on the current development plan, Coegin expects to be ready to initiate the first clinical studies towards the end of the third quarter of 2026.

At the same time, Coegin continues to receive interest in NPP-4 from companies and potential commercial partners across multiple regions worldwide. The Company is also seeing growing attention from consumers and industry stakeholders interested in next-generation, science-based solutions within skin tone enhancement ("skin darkening"), further reinforcing management's confidence in the commercial potential of the technology.

"We are very encouraged by the progress we are seeing in the NPP-4 program," says Jens Eriksson, CEO of Coegin Pharma. "The INCI filing is an important steps toward future commercialization, and the global interest we are already experiencing confirms that the market is actively looking for new science-based innovations within skin toning. We believe NPP-4 has the potential to become a highly attractive addition to our growing peptide technology platform."

NPP-4 is a peptide innovation originating from research at the University of Bradford in the United Kingdom, developed under the leadership of Professor Desmond J. Tobin, one of the internationally recognized experts within pigment cell biology and hair follicle research, and Research team manager, Professor, Anna Hultgårdh, Department of Experimental Medical Science, Lund University. Professor Tobin and Hultgårdh are both actively involved as scientific advisors to Coegin Pharma in the continued development of NPP-4.

The peptide ingredient is being developed as a new cosmetic technology platform for skin tone enhancement, with the potential to support a naturally darker and more even-looking complexion. Early development studies have demonstrated the intended cosmetic effect of the technology, supporting the continued advancement of the NPP-4 program. Coegin sees broad commercial opportunities for NPP-4 across multiple product categories for both face and body applications. The Company also sees significant potential in future combination products integrating NPP-4 with SPF (Sun Protection Factor) technologies within the growing premium sun care segment.

As part of earlier development activities, Coegin successfully formulated NPP-4 in the same patented gel serum formulation platform used for Follicopeptide®. This proprietary delivery technology was specifically developed to optimize peptide delivery and provides a strong foundation for future product development and commercialization of NPP-4-based cosmetic products.

Coegin also confirms that the Company's own scalable production facility in Denmark is well adapted for future manufacturing of NPP-4-based products alongside the existing Follicopeptide® portfolio.

An INCI registration is the formal process of obtaining an internationally recognized cosmetic ingredient name used for ingredient labeling and regulatory purposes within the global cosmetics industry. The filing process includes submission of technical, manufacturing, and safety-related documentation for review. Once approved, the ingredient receives an official INCI designation that enables future commercial use in cosmetic formulations and product labeling worldwide.

The Company expects to provide further updates as the development program progresses.
