H&D Digital Twin Industries AB launches RF tags for indoor positioning in private 5G networks in connection with Mobil World Congress

H&D Digital Twin Industries AB launches RF tags for indoor positioning in private 5G networks on the last day of Mobile World Congress. These have been optimized for the hospital environment of Swedish and European hospitals. The RF tags are used to follow critical materials and work flows within hospitals by creating digital twins using ID tagging of equipment within strategic infrastructure

The RF tags can be used for RTLS services such as Asset management, Fleet management and Process Flow, which in a hospital means, for example, that you in real time can follow critical hospital equipment, vehicles, as well as hospital beds and emergency beds indoors. RF tags released now are part of the BOX711 family of HDT.

The potential of the solution is improved patient safety, operational efficiency, reduced costs, insights from process flow reports, improved staff productivity when you don't have to look for critical equipment as much, medical waste management processes, compliance support and improved data security.

The driving force behind the product launch is the new technology that is part of the new 5G-SA infrastructure for private networks that is now being rolled out in both private companies and the public sector for strategic operations in Sweden and Europe.

The advantages of private 5G networks (owned by the companies themselves) are that they replace both DECT, Wi-Fi and other local communication systems and combine it with the advantages of mobile systems, i.e. mobiles and computers can communicate both locally and with the global networks outside the company's area. Furthermore, 5G-SA is considered to have significantly improved security and performance.

In terms of cost, 5G private networks have the same advantage as DECT and Wi-Fi, i.e. there are no running costs for subscriptions or calls and data transfer.

A major advantage in terms of positioning compared to GPS is that 5G Private Networks are much more difficult to disrupt in sabotage or hybrid warfare, and above all, that it works to position equipment and personnel indoors.

The product Box711 is already used in several RTLS projects in some of the regions in Sweden that have chosen to invest in 5G-SA private networks in Sweden. More information on this will be available soon.
