Decanter gold medals to Testament Winery
Testament Winery received more medals than any other Croatian winery when the results from the Decanter World Wine Awards, the world's largest and most influential wine competition, were announced. Judged by the top wine experts from around the globe, this is a huge recognition for the company's winemakers and an important step in reaching the objective of creating Croatia's best wine.
Zhoda Investments founded Croatia's first Swedish-owned winery in 2017 with the objective to create Croatia's best wine. The company has now taken an important step to reach this goal. The Decanter 2020 wine competition was a huge success for Testament. Together with its sister winery Merga Victa, Testament Winery won a record number of medals for several of their wines. The efforts in the vineyard and winery to produce premium quality yet affordable wines are proving to be successful. No Croatian winery was awarded more medals than Testament Winery.
The Dalmatian Dog is the first wine from the grape babic ever to receive a gold medal in Decanter.
Testament Posip is a new kid on the block on the Croatian wine scene. It is the first wine from the grape posip not coming from the grape's home island of Korcula to be awarded a Decanter gold medal.
Merga Victa, winning a silver medal, is often regarded as the original and role model posip. The farmer Marin Tomasic discovered the grape in 1880 in Smokvica on the island of Korcula, in the very village where Merga Victa winery is located.
The Testament and Merga Victa brand recognition on the market is steadily growing. The wineries offer high quality wine from local Dalmatian grapes in an attractive price segment. The wine makers Juraj Sladic and Igor Radovanovic are making Croatian wine history by combining Dalmatia's over two thousand year old wine tradition with modern winemaking.
The award winning wines can be ordered through Systembolaget. For further information on the wines, visit http://www.testamentvanner.com.
